Intercultural Cancer Council (ICC): Cancer Fact Sheets

Description

The Intercultural Cancer Council (ICC) Cancer Fact Sheets were created because medically underserved populations, such as racial and ethnic minorities, experience disproportionately greater suffering and compromised health from cancer compared to the U.S. population as a whole.

The following cancer fact sheets are available:

  • African Americans and cancer
  • American Indians/Alaska natives and cancer
  • Asian Americans and cancer
  • Hispanics/Latinos and cancer
  • Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders and cancer
  • Rural poor/medically underserved Americans and cancer
  • Pain and cancer
  • Workplace and cancer
  • Children/adolescents and cancer
  • Elderly and cancer
  • Cancer clinical trials
  • Fatigue and cancer

These fact sheets can be used as a stand-alone educational piece, to raise awareness of disparities in racial, ethnic, and medically underserved communities, or as background research on a racial or ethnic population.
