Young Child Risk Calculator

Description

The Young Child Risk Calculator shows the percentage of young children in a State who face selected risk factors, multiple risks, and risks combined with economic hardship. These risk factors—household without English speaker, large family, low parent income, residential mobility, single parent, teen mother, unemployed parent(s)—are associated with poor health, school, and developmental outcomes. Users can select a State, an age group, any number of individual risks, and a level of economic hardship.

Information about the prevalence of young children experiencing these risks can inform policies aimed at improving outcomes for vulnerable children and reducing the number of children experiencing early risks.
