Antimicrobial Stewardship Toolkit


Description

This toolkit is designed to provide health care facilities with a general guide to the implementation of a successful antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP). The goal of an ASP is to manage and ensure the appropriate use of antibiotics, while minimizing resistance to and the costs of antibiotic therapy. 

The resources included are intended to provide a basic framework that can be tailored to suit institutions irrespective of the facility’s size, academic teaching status, staffing model (voluntary versus staff physician models), formulary, prescribing practices, patient population, level of implementation, or available resources. 

The toolkit is divided into the following sections:
