SCOAP Surgical Checklist Initiative


Description

The Surgical Care and Outcomes Assessment Program (SCOAP) Surgical Checklist Initiative was created by a coalition of major health care stakeholders in Washington State. Through this initiative, they developed the SCOAP Surgical Checklist and the SCOAP Ambulatory Checklist. These checklists are an active way of controlling the variability that exists in surgical care, thus creating a system that delivers safer surgery.
