The Chinese Women's Health Project: Products

Description

The following materials from the Chinese Women's Health Project were used to decrease the incidence of invasive cervical cancer among Chinese women by increasing the frequency and regularity of Pap testing. The project consisted of two interventions to promote cervical cancer screening among Chinese American and Canadian women—an outreach worker-based intervention and a direct mail intervention. The following materials used for this project are available to download:
  • The Chinese Women's Health Project: Outreach Worker Manual (a manual with information to assist the outreach worker)
  • Prevention of Cervical Cancer: The Pap Test (a brochure explaining the Pap test in English and Chinese)
  • Pap Testing: A New Step on the Path to Women's Health (a brochure on Pap testing in English and Chinese)
  • Pap Testing Fact Sheet—Vancouver (a sample listing of clinic locations in English and Chinese)
  • Pap Testing Fact Sheet—Seattle (a sample listing of clinic locations in English and Chinese)
  • A New Pathway to Women's Health (a video supporting the outreach program in Cantonese with subtitles)
These materials may be used "as is" or may be modified and adapted for another program. Program adaptation guidelines are provided on the site. There is also a link to "Using What Works," a train-the-trainer course that teaches users how to adapt a research-tested intervention program to the local community context.
