Mittman

Brian S. Mittman, PhD

Co-Editor-in-Chief, Implementation Science;
Senior Social Scientist, VA/UCLA/RAND Center for the Study of Healthcare Provider Behavior;
Member, Editorial Board

Dr. Mittman is co-editor in chief of the new journal Implementation Science (www.ImplementationScience.com) and a senior social scientist at the VA/UCLA/RAND Center for the Study of Healthcare Provider Behavior in Los Angeles. His research interests include implementation science, health care quality improvement, and health care management. Previously, he was a visiting professor in the Department of Health Services, UCLA School of Public Health and taught at the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management.

He is a member of the Institute of Medicine Forum on the Science of Quality Improvement and Implementation and is active in several VA, NIH, AHRQ, and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation initiatives to strengthen quality improvement research and implementation science. His published research appears in the Journal of the American Medical Association, Annals of Internal Medicine, Medical Care, Health Services Research, and many other journals.

Dr. Mittman received a PhD in Organizational Behavior from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
