Dr. Mittman is co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal Implementation Science (www.ImplementationScience.com) and director of the VA Center for Implementation Practice and Research Support. His research interests include implementation science, health care quality improvement, and health care management. He has served as a visiting professor in the Department of Health Services at the UCLA School of Public Health and in management at the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management.
He is a past chair of the NIH Special Emphasis Panel on Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health and was a founding member of the Institute of Medicine Forum on the Science of Quality Improvement and Implementation. He is active in several other U.S. and international initiatives to strengthen quality improvement research and implementation science. His published research appears in the Journal of the American Medical Association, Annals of Internal Medicine, Medical Care, Health Services Research, and many other journals.
Dr. Mittman received a PhD in Organizational Behavior from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
